Buy American Developments

The federal government requires the support of the US economy by giving priority to domestic content when a government contract is being performed. Contractors must comply with Buy American requirements or seek a waiver. This administration has been focusing on the Buy American requirements and is examining whether they should be tightened.

A recent example is the “BuyAmerican.gov Act of 2018,” which Sen. Portman of Ohio introduced because of concern that U.S. federal agencies have granted an excessive number of waivers to Buy American laws. This new legislation attempts to ensure federal agencies prioritize the purchase of American-made goods.

This webinar will cover the attention to Buy American requirements and their impact on supply chains. Besides this Act, recent Executive Orders, and FY 2018 NDAA supply chain-related sections will be addressed.

Each webinar is 60 minutes and provides 1 CPE (Continuing Professional Education unit)
